"WHAT MORE CAN ONE SAY???"
I have owned and been owned this wonderful breed since 1974
Obtaining my first Irish Setter from Roddy and Louvain Gledhill "WARAGANA" prefix.
Little did I know how much a part of my life this wonderful couple and their prfix would impact on my life over the next 34 years.!!
My first dog Waragana Pericles known as "RED"became my devoted companion,show dog and obedience partner.
"RED"obtained his Champioship title as a show dog,and did our breed proud when he won the Eric Dart Memorial Shield for best Gundog under 2 years of age for obedience and showing.
This honour is presentsd by The Gundog Club of WA yearly.
When "RED" won this award it was the first time in the history of the club that it had been won by any other breed than a Retriever.
What a proud Mum I was!!."RED" went on to do me proud winning Best in Show's and a CC and Best of Breed at the Perth Royal Show.
Over the years I have had the privilege of owning "WARAGANA" Irish Setters to campaign in the show ring.
1994 is a year that I will treasure for the rest of my life.
This is when "AIMEE" (CH.WARAGANA FIELDS O FIRE") came into my life!!
Might I add like a destructive tornado??
She was FULL on.
Willful,destructive, naughty,and ooh so loveable.
The ugly duckling that turned into a swan.
What a show girl.!!! Her LOOK at ME attitude in the show ring was to die for.
"AIMEE" gave me one of the most exciting days of my life when she took
"BEST IN SHOW" at the 1998 Irish Setter National in Adelaide,under specialist judge,Mr.Alistar Watt from Scotland ("Shenanigans Irish Setters")
When Roddy and Louvain gave me the news they would no longer be breeding Irish Setters.
I started my own breeding programme in 1999 to keep the wonderful bloodlines, that had been available to me from "WARAGANA"for the past 25 years.
I lost my beautiful "Aimee" in 2005 aged 11 years.
Her passing ended 31 years of a "WARAGANA" Irish Setter in my life.I wish to thank Roddy and Louvain for their support,comfort and fantastic advice over the past 34 years and helping me to produce my own prefix
"SOLASDAS" (which means Flaming Beauty)
To date I have bred 7 Champions and on the way to gaining titles with 4 of my younger campaigners.
